Hi everyone,
I want to thank the faithful members of SAVV.
I'm sure Jules would be flattered. I should however note that Scifi has edited
out two scenes in which Jules was quite throttled. In "Southern Comfort" when
Jules alerts Fogg about the fire at Sartoga's estate, Fogg rips Verne off the
steering ball and throws him to the floor. (It was one of my favorite stunts. I
was sorry to see it go). Secondly in "Steely Joe" when Quantrill pulled his gun
on Phileas during their poker game, Jules rushes over to his friend's aid only
to be held back and subdued by Frank James.
In was recently posted that
Jules perhaps acted too afraid when Vargas entered the room. Thanks goes to
Gerty and others for standing up for the kind of character that is Jules. And in
a technical sense, I had to get up in order to clear frame for Vargas. (the
frame where you are seeing from Phileas POV) Jules is not your typical action
hero- he's a writer, remember, not a fighter or a secret service agent.
I'm glad that you guys enjoyed the episode. I'm looking forward to the
upcoming episode, "The Golem"- out of all the episodes, I had the most fun
making this one. For all of you that have been faithfully following the sideburn
rule, it is in effect. :)
Also- Michel- Hey! Rory is great- she misses
you! :) She's enjoying the CA sun and wondering if she will get to see some more
Montreal snow. :) Remember her snow boots?
I'm looking forward to doing
another chat soon. Arinne will post whenever we can set a date. :)
:)
